Twang Sound with Musicman Guitar?

Hi everybody,

thanks for your good advices.
A Musicman Albert Lee looks definitely better than a Tele
After I ve checked a lot of youtube videos about this guitar, I can say that this model comes really close to a tele twang sound.

Before you told me about this model, I didnt know the possible field of application that comes with this guitar. I didnt even know Albert Lee himself (shame on me). I only knew that there is a Albert Lee model.

Well Albert Lee isnt such a big shot in Germany (where I am from) as he is in the US, so his signature isnt quite as popular as other Ernie Ball Musicman Signatures here.

Steve Morse manages to get a twangy sound out of his guitars, mostly I think his #1, although it is probably more like the sound on his FrankenTele than the sound of an unmodified Tele.

That's really a no-brainer...twang=Albert Lee, both the SSS or the MM90s!
It's actually pretty hard to find a dealer in your (our!) area who stocks one though...

Another advocate for the SSS AL in getting that Telecaster sound. Paisley has one in his arsenal as well.

If you are after true telecaster tones then the AL cant do it, but its a WHOLE lot more twangier than a standard SSS type axe, even AL himself has a stratty sound and rarely is heard using the bridge pickup alone. You pretty much always hear him using the classic bridge/middle tone.

Love the Al, but its a beast of its own, not a slave to a tele or a strat.

I played an AL SSS today and loved it!

I snuck in when Pete couldn't catch me .

Though no one has mentioned it, paralell + single mode positions on the 25th has a definite twang to it. Only thing is it has soooooooooo much more

This is true, just got done playing with mine. LOVE that position!

I totally agree ,its a beast of its own.....Funny thing is ..i always use the bridge by itself hahaha....but i eq it from the amp for that setting ....and then i tweak my pedals for my ears .....i need to play with that 2nd position more!!

Which one, the ultra-light Radiance Red or the light Teal Pearl? Tommy and Beej were astounded by the Rad Red. It's like holding a feather, or the Gold Roller!

And did you play the blackburst BFR Luke?

Yep, i was about to say that the soapbars would probably be the best bet for the Tele bridge twang.

but i am very interested to know what is the different between the soapbar and the single pickup? especially on AL and AXIS.
