The guitar sounds greeat I think that I would have preferred the body glossy and the neck oiled but it is a great guitar.

Regrading wood...prepare to tell your grandkids about guitars made of ALder Manoghany rosewood and even MAPLE!!!!!

How's the Ash market?

Where I live, we've been infested with what they're calling the Emerald Ash Borer. Don't ask me what the official latin name is.
I believe this bug is of Asian origin. It gets into the bark of the ash tree and then kills the whole damn thing!!! The govenment tried to quarantine the buggers and destroy the infested trees but the efforts have not worked. We've lost so many trees it's not even funny. There's a park a couple of blocks away that was like a forest when I was a kid. Now it looks like a baseball diamond. That park alone lost 350-500 trees. The landscape has really changed all over town.
This whole thing happened within a couple of years. I imagine it's just a matter of time before it really spreads.

You not a Rush fan Foggy?

There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas.

....The trouble with the maples,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade.
There is trouble in the forest,
And the creatures all have fled,
As the maples scream "Oppression!"
And the oaks just shake their heads
So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
"The oaks are just too greedy;
We will make them give us light."
Now there's no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe, and saw.

DOH!!!! Is it Friday yet???

Man I need a vacation!! Maybe Dallas?

The rosewood Silo can never happen with the restrictions on Indian Rosewood. The laws have changed again and we got the last ten blanks available.
How does this affect the Rosewood ASS?

I hope I won't see BP start a thread like, "Rosewood ASS R.I.P." :(

India wants to keep the milling labor in their own country, so that is the main reason one piece body blanks are so rare.

....its a 90's musicman guitar with with heavy birdseye maple and a rosewood board.the guitar's top is what they termed quilted maple-see how it differs from the birdseye figuring on the neck.
