Wait, no way, BP? I gotta go do some searching, but you gotta be kidding me. Are you really a UFC fan? Can you believe I'm rescheduling band practice on the 18th because of a UFC PPV event?

i was considering a gk neo212 before i bought a used mb 104hf. the gk sounded great, but ultimately my bongo could make it break up at gigging volumes. but the markbass, man that thing just keeps pumping. the more you turn it up, the tighter it gets.

bear in mind that the markbass i bought was used, and actually cost me as much as a new 212neo. so i don't know how big a factor price is for you.

its sort of like a super GK.

i think the 212neo has a little more bottom end than the 104hf, maybe because its a 2x12. it still sounded amazing, its just that the bongo's thunderous low end could make it break up before i thought it would. mind you, it was plenty loud before that happened, so in reality you might not even reach that sort of voume level.

then again, you are playing rock, so maybe you will...

which country do you live in, whats the price difference between the GK and the Markbass? here, the GK retails at $AUD1699, and the markbass at $AUD2499. so thats a big difference. you might be able to get two used neo 212s for the price of a new 104f.

the best thing would be for you to try and track down both and play them both.

Thanks for posting that here, too, ras.

So we both have a Stealth Bongo. I guess I'm just going to admit I'm a copy cat and get your rig. I cannot for the life of me find any Neo 212's to play. I know it's cheaper than the 104HF's but I've learned my lesson. I used to try to save money and would not be happy and then spend more money in the end upgrading. So I'm gonna go for it if it's the right decision.

When I tried the LMKII/104HF I think I see what you mean about the bottom and can imagine that a 212 has more, but the punch of a 410 is too cool and then when you just turn the bottom EQ up on the Bongo, I think it becomes DANGEROUS.
