The funny thing to me is that the only people that I've heard criticize the looks of a Bongo are bass players. Everyone else seems to like them. .. .

Except for a lot of online "industrial design critics" I never
hear a thing about how it looks. Locally no one ever says
anything about it's appearance, except to go "Wow" at its

I did preface my post by saying it was a non-PC joke. Over the years I've heard the same joke used for many different nationalities (usually as a bowling ball, not volleyball).

It's good you chose Volleyball for funning at the Poles. I think if it had been Bowling ... well busting on someone about their National Sport would have been taken more seriously. In Poland, Bowling is more evolved than in the West. For one thing, the catcher's mitt is bigger than a trashcan lid.
