How 'bout "Bulbous"? Can we use that to describe the Bongo's shape?

And...you don't have to be an idiot to be bulbous.

(Waiting for someone to offer the counter-point...)
Can't we all just get along?

Can't we all just agree ..... that a Bongo looks like a cross between a giraffe and an engorged tick?

The funny thing to me is that the only people that I've heard criticize the looks of a Bongo are bass players. Everyone else seems to like them. .. .
+1 and 4-shur. Here's a clip from something I wrote to TBL, about just *who* complains about Bongo styling and who doesn't. These are non-online reactions, from real flesh and blood people in real brick and mortar venues .......

(begin clip)
Blaze [G***ariste], at a GC clearance sale: "Wow !!! You
gonna buy that ?!?! Sounds terrific !"

Ms. Diva [Chanteuse], on hearing Bongo accompanying
her piano-vocal lead: "Oohh I love that. Is it new ?"

Wayne [Drummer], casual encounter: "Hey did you buy
that bass? Man, I WANTED that."

Bobbie [G***ariste, Basser], casual encounter: "That's
yours? Great !! A lot of session guys are getting those."

Casandra [Fan], at a crowded gig where I had to play a
headless mini: "Hey :-( Where's the orange Bongo ?"

Me [Bongoiste], on a MusicMan forum: "It looks like a
mollusk trying to devour a long g***ar neck, but I don't
have to look at it ... I just play it, which is like a dream"

Except for a lot of online "industrial design critics" I never
hear a thing about how it looks. Locally no one ever says
anything about it's appearance, except to go "Wow" at its
bright orange metalic paint. (end clip)

Nope...sorry...

I did preface my post by saying it was a non-PC joke. Over the years I've heard the same joke used for many different nationalities (usually as a bowling ball, not volleyball).
It's good you chose Volleyball for funning at the Poles. I think if it had been Bowling ... well busting on someone about their National Sport would have been taken more seriously. In Poland, Bowling is more evolved than in the West. For one thing, the catcher's mitt is bigger than a trashcan lid.

Holy Smoke, Jack!

I read this thread before your redaction.. your backspace key must be worn out!

I think you need to give your delete finger the rest of the day off, as it must be utterly exhausted! ;)

Steebo loves to give me something to do, doesn't he?

I'm just glad to see that his recent testicular alteration hasn't slowed down his ability to subvert the disallowed word filter here.

Next time you talk to Steve, tell him about the shift 8 feature on his keyboard.

Okay...now this all makes sense. That's what I get for getting a good night's sleep. ;)

Have you played one? Big difference between the look and sound. I'm glad that EB has decided to explore new things. Gettin tired of the other companies that keep rehashing 60 year old designs.

Yeah I have played one. I didn't like it much. As I said before, I can see why other people like them, but I don't.
