not sure where this is at now but here you go Azzy......

StingRay @ TB
Oooh that is NICE! The chap wants a ridiculous amount for it though - but even used basses go for massive amounts over here. Now if it was a Sterling I'd be SERIOUSLY tempted! :D

Bet someone else will fancy this though :) Especially as my aversion to maple necks is well documented. And YES, I know I'm fussy!

Thanks for spotting that for me - if you see any 4 string DG Bongos for sales, give me a yell! That's next on my list :p

Nice bass, but the price isn,t realistic! especielly considering there's a paint chip somewhere. He's comparing it with an immaculate ex in a shop, and I'd say cut at least 15% off his price.
The guy seems like a bit of an idiot to me... he says it's either an 05 or 06? If he's talking about years surely that can't be right as the sparkles were discontinued back longer than that weren't they?

I think he could push £850-900, but not a grand.

You're quite right Magnus - I'll try to be a bit less harsh ;)

or.

OR, he can come on here and be pretty p1ss*ed off at the standard attitude i find on here so often, no wonder this forum gets such a bad rep!?!?
Yes i am comparing to the same bass in a shop, only mine has a detuner and two scratchplates, also in this day and age you allow yourself some room to haggle, move and discount. Im sooo very sorry for not being 100% sure of the exact year of my bass, and the exact time that sparkle finishes were discontinued, was it AM or PM??
Im also sorry for liking warwicks, i know how that offends you all and makes me an idiot, all warwick players are total idiots im sure!!, what about warwick players like me that own stingrays, this is my 2nd ray, but i guess that dosnt count??
As it goes im still not sure about selling hence i was just asking around, i just spent a happy afternoon playing it and thinking how great it was and how lucky i was to own a ray after all, but when i come on here and see the famed EBMM forum attitude kicking off all over it REALLY, REALLY upset me!, i mean FFS arent we all on the same side?, what the hell is wrong with you people, please tyry thinking a little more before you start saying things like that, maybe i dont know exactly the year etc cause i just like playing the thing rather than getting all anorak over it?!?!?!
Im sorry, im not even angry as such im just upset and insulted at the dogged, small minded petty attitude.
im sure this will end up deleted too for being anti-EBMM or something!

Azzy wazzy didnt seem that funny to me dude, but thanks for the sentiment

Oh, she's funny alright, stick around and find out:D

You know, I really really understand you not getting exactly what you want from the SR, since the bass you favour is like a total opposite of any MM. I on the other hand cannot understand that german maker at all...

I am honestly sorry if anythign I said offended you. I did use a few words that I perhaps shouldn't, but these guys know me well enough to know how I mean things. My comment about the years was aimed at these guys as a question, as I don't know what year the sparkles were disconned and I wasn't sure if that was what the 05/06 reference in your post was to. I was just asking them for their opinion.

And we do tease people who talk about selling their MMs for other basses as we think they are great and it's a bit of an unwritten law here to not sell them (trade is good though - as long as it's for another one! :D ), so please don't take anything we say too seriosuly - as we hate to see someone leave the family.

Again - my apologies - I promise to be better behaved in future.

These guys can recommend some good straps that really help with the weight of the Ray. If you want something different, try trading it with one of the guys on here for another Ray or a Sterling. And another great thing about this place, is people do sometimes "loan" basses if you want to try something out - and you're more than welcome to go and visit members who live nearby and check things out!

Whatever you do, don't let me scare you off. My bark is worse than my bite - I'm actually quite lovely ;)

I work for a certain large travel company and it's something we are thinking of doing as a yearly fundraising event to raise money for the Variety Club.

With regards to the Ray, I'd say keep or trade with the guys on here for something else that may float your boat a bit more. Try some other MMs at local shops and see if you can find one that really speaks to you. Then you can look at trading or selling to buy another. If you wanted to sell, I would say about the £900 mark, bearing in mind the detuner and pickguards. But if you were to eBay it, you may well get over a grand, as long as you provide plenty of pics of the blemish etc you mentioned.
