Well, you know ;)

And there's a number of people on there who will come and post on here, all civilly, but then slag off this forum elsewhere... I know people may well take offence at me posting this comment, but it REALLY narks me off... I can't be doing with 2 faced people. Grrrr.

I'm going to be quiet now before I upset anyone else and have to apologise again

Well, I just read the posts over at bassworld...missed it earlier.

Some peeps from here post there and that is cool. Some have gone out of their way to fan the flames a little...again, that is up to them.

However, Big Poppa posts on his own forum. I have yet to see another owner of the company do that....yes, it is a miracle. F'ng quote me if you want.

Donating a kidney to his son....yes, a miracle. Again, quote me.

Open House....yes, miracle. Quote me.

NAMM show and his hospitality towards my brother....ok, not a "miracle", but still cool non the less. Quote me.

Warped Tour in Va. Beach. Got me and my friends tickets, free beer, tent to keep the sun out....good time...oh, not a miracle. Simply generous of him. Quote me.

LisaIS Blue Dawn body swap. Miracle and generous. Quote me.

Dargie Delight. Miracle...Quote me.

Customer Service. Miracle others don't follow it. Quote me.

Posting one offs and new stuff for us FIRST. Miracle...no, just cool. Quote me.

Bovinehost an A$$hole? No, that is a miracle...hehehe...love ya bro. Quote me.

See, some of the dudes over there are correct. Miracles happen here. Come and post if you want to. We tend to police ourselves. Sorry, we are rabid fans of EBMM and the products. Can't help it. Don't like it...then find a place that you will like. Simple as that.

As for mods to YOUR axe. Who cares? Do it. I did to one of my Pets. I even sent the pups to a forum member here that I have never met nor do I really know. No $$ exchanged hands...none needed. Karma pays when you do a good deed. I felt better knowing someone was gonna put them to use. Nothing more.

I have many friends from the UK and love them dearly. I don't give two rats tails where you are from....I'm cool as long as you are. However, I can be a <insert word here> if you piss me off. Life is fun that way.

Music Man's Ban?

You mean supporting distributors that advertise, promote, handle replacement parts, artist relations, warranty repair and carry inventory?

These people want the infrastructure and the support that it brings, but dont want to pay for it.

Gafbass02....could you be more two faced? You we instantly apologized to, explained the intent including the humor and instantly responded to by our customer service. What did we do wrong? You have posted great posts since and been responded to in kind.

Guys lets not waste any more bandwith on this. I am sorry that the UK forum thinks so poorly about us and this forum and my participation. Thats life I guess!

The good thing is that we know who they are! Post them if you wish so we can treat them accordingly.

I would BP, but so as not to sink to their level, I will refrain. People are more than welcome to peruse the thread themselves and make their own decisions.

I just hate that a few comments I made in both humour and frustration have been taken so wrongly. And that my apology was thrown back in my face when I didn't have to make one.

But as you say - let's not waste any more bandwith on it.

I will try to refrain from commenting any further on this as I'm sure it would not be terribly constructive.

I will TRY.

Old Blues bass man

Im sorry if I offended you. You took a joke wrong. I have enjoyed your contributions and would never intentionally say something to offend or hurt you. If you change your mind and come to Dallas the first of many pints are on me. Just leave the Kiwi guy behind.

Also I really dont like the comments that I d0ont support the other brands. How many times has there been a post that says XXXXX VS> YYYYYYY and I say it isnt VS it is Or as not every bass if for everyone and the world need choices? Usually I follow it up with a comment supporting the other builder as this is a small fraternity and I have a lot of respect for my fellow makers.

I agree with Jack about the part this being a EBMM-forum and that some people should understand and appreciate that and that it's common sense. I'm not monogamous when it comes to musical instruments, but I don't come here to discuss my.....Gibson Les Paul! Ooooops!:D
Seriously, I love my StingRay, sunshine comes out of the sun, I think BP's a stand-up guy, and after reading this whole thread I think Beth is right on when she says that you get what you put into it.Simple.

hey look... some people will and some won't understand the following:

it's not a restriction of one's freedom of speech to go to a party at someone's home and be expected NOT to slag on the host or the guests. and you can't accuse the party guests of clannishness for being offended when you do.

it's politeness.

there are very open, non-affiliated forums in which one can express him/herself.

Maybe BP should visit the UK to show them what the sun actually looks like. If they spend all day in front of their computer bagging other forums, it's no wonder they miss the 5 days of sunshine they have per year.

I think it's more likely that they are spending all day on the computer to avoid watching the endless dreadful Aussie soap operas that are all over our TV.;)

There's a reason why we send our soap operas to the UK. It's the same reason Fosters beer is exported :p

I think that's a fair trade, given what you guys exported to Australia 200 years ago!

bad

I put that there when i was upset at the business that had gone on here, before all was sorted and friends again, i would have deleted it but it was taken and replied to and run with, which i now regret, as i hate people falling out over such silly little things, we are all bass players and should be able to get along.
For my own part i fully and unreservedly apolgise for furthering a situation. I was (am) vert pleased with the way the situation was resolved on here between MYSELF AND THE OTHERS INVOLVED ON HERE, screw everyone else ill make my own mind up and you guys quickly and nicely put things right and we worked it out, hence i came back and posted again. I love the guys on bassworld, and really feel a great sense of trust on there, but as an outsider and i can see that the same thing exists on here between you guys. Its just a web forum, i was silly to have taken a dispute from here elsewhere, i didnt realise it would get so out of hand or give rise to such bad feeling, i was just stunned when i found this thread and the way it spoke about me out of hand, like i say, which has now been resolved.

Im sorry if ive been two faced, either to the people on here on the people on bassworld, im human, i was upset, who hasnt done or said something they later regret when upset?? i try to be as nice and friendly as possible to all people at all times and i fel bad that people have cause to be upset with me as Big Poppa evidently is, so once again allow me to say im very sorry to have upset, offended or pissed anyone off on here bassworld, talkbass or in any other capacity...
..i was hurt, i lashed out, im sorry.

Well, thanks man. However, the Internet thingy is a tough one sometimes. There is no "real time" in how things are said or how it was meant. As, we can only read what is typed out. I am sure I have said and done things that have gotten some peeps here mad.....that is life. We are human and no one is perfect. It is easy for me to get annoyed at some people (especially for me) when they slag a friend of mine and have no idea how this person really is. Big Poppa is a very generous person as well as Dargie, Brian, Beth, Jon, Kevin and all the others at EBMM who I did not mention. Some people come here thinking that they can post whatever they want to and hide behind the "It's my opinion" or "Freedom of speech", but, the bill for this forum is Big Poppa's and he can regulate it any way he wants to.
Some things to consider for all of us....some joking/sayings in the US are taken different in other countries and vice versa. This is where the "Thick Skin" needs to be applied. Sometimes I don't get British humor....but, I don't go off like someone was being hurtful. Again, I have many friends in other countries and love 'em to death.

Seriously, enjoy your stay here. I am glad things were worked out for you and the others here. We do play bass/guitar and that should be enough to make this a friendly place. I have met quite a few of the peeps here and they are super cool people and I am better for meeting them. I hope you continue to post and contribute.

gaf,

Stick around. I honestly don't think there are many folks on this forum who would intentionally offend someone... newbie or veteran. That's what makes this place a great hang. There's a lot of joking of course, which could possibly offend someone if taken out of context, but in my experience the intent is never malicious.

Even when folks spout off about modifying EBMM instruments, I always take it in a light-hearted fashion. I'm sure nobody here would think any less of me if I modded one of my EBMM guitars, even if they posted strong caution against doing it. I know that most of the folks are just joking around in a brand-loyal manner when they make such comments. (Unless they're talking about NorM. :D)
