Depends on what used Bongos usually go for in the UK, and what it would cost in import duties to bring a used one in from the US. That one is priced at US$1600, and used Bongo 4s sell on the forum or on ebay in the US for $800-900. Factor in shipping and taxes and you chould still be in front buying used from the US.

My sister in law is in the US Air Force stationed in Lakenheath so I ask that any US bought ebay items to be posted USPS to her APO address (paypal verified... no underhand dodgy dealings here!!). Costs the same as posting to the 48 lower states AND I don't have to pay UK customs!! That's how I bought my '96 Ray V String (Since sold! Boo hoo!!). Bought for $750.00 plus $38.00 postage. Worked out at £453.00!!!

Sure does have a lot of knobs to twiddle for a 3 band.

Also, is it common to restring them when they get them in stock over there in the UK? Only asking because those aren't ernie ball strings but the factory hang tag is showing prominently in the pictures.

The back of the neck looks a little too shiny for a nearly new Bongo, unless it's been played a lot.

I paid a little less than that for my first, very much as-new Bongo, so it's a touch too pricy IMHO (especially as I imported a s/h Bongo H that was in better condition for much less)

Hi Rob,
Just to let you know our motley bunch (www.myspace.com/loopland) are playing B2 (Brickmakers) in Norwich 25th October. Come on down and we'll have a beer.

Cheers mate...decent venue that - we played it just after Xmas. I will let you know, my wife and I are expecting an imminent arrival so having to play a lot of stuff by ear as I travel with work too. Drop me a note nearer, would love to see you enjoyed the stuff on myspace, bass work sounds pretty decent matey.

Cheers Rob... Zero and Choice were recorded with the 30th Anniversary. Had to keep it on the leash a bit (compression!). Martin was doing his nut about the tone and it's capabilities!!!

Stop hi-jacking my thread with gig spam!

JK

So, it's a pricey one eh? I thought so myself, but thout I'd put it to the honourable members.

The strings are awful coated cr@p and I reckon they kept the tag in the case then stick it on a machine head for the photo.

I'm in the market for a HH Bongo 4. Not super fussed on colour, but will decide should one become available.

Please - any UK sellers let me know if you get anything. I'm as able to log on as often as I used to so please feel free to email me.....

Thanks for the replies, guys. This is still the only place to come for EBMM advice as far as I'm concerned.

Did you forget the winky smiley or did I really nark you off? Apologies if I did. :( Just chatting with a potential new friend who lives 30 miles from me via California.

And it was to see a EBMM SR30th in action!;)

Lesson learned and it won't happen again.

*now sitting on the 'naughty step' for an hour!!!*
