So I drove the 150 miles to attend this and I have to say...............it was more than worth it.

Great clinic from Dave Marks, which he took using a BFR Stingray and a beautiful SR5H trans teal. He also demo'd some points on a fretless piezo Ray4and a 25th Anni single H - the latter he demo'd all his fave Stingray sounds plus others - in demo'ing the EQ on the 25th, the bass response on centre detent was huge - on full it was totally thunderous, I've never heard anything like it. Dave Marks is a great teacher and bassist.

I got to play a black Big Al 4SSS, the above mentioned 25th, and a lava pearl Bongo 4HH (I really am succumbing to the Bongo bug - I would have bought it if I wasn't waiting on a classic and it had 5 strings)

There was a wall of MM basses including 4 classics. I had a look at a black/maple classic and it was beautiful - about 10 lbs I'd say - so if any UK knuckleheads want to try a classic, they've got em.

Awesome event and big thanks to Absolute Music Solutions and Strings and Things/EBMM - this was the best event of this sort I've ever been to, fantastic atmosphere and venue. And I'm saying that even though I didn't win the Ray 34 cheers also for the update on my classic, and for the other merchandise we got.

I know, no pics, no event - I'll post a pic at the week-end of the wall with the Classics.
