EBMM Silo Spec into a Berger JTM 45 style combo (1x12, about 35 watts with 2 KT-66).

This amp is handbuilt and PTP, it´s between a Marshall bluesbreaker and a Fender Bassman. I´m patching the two channels and get a monster clean tone out of it. Because its a single channel amp (I´m running it always clean), I use some pedals:

- for overdrive two pedals from OKKO (a small german company), the Diablo Gain+ and the Twinsonic (meantime you can buy this pedals also in the US, see the HP) and the real fantastic Danelectro Transparent OD (version 1). The Twinsonic includes a clean booster for solo tones
- tuning with the TC Polytune
- Delay and Chorus with the Visual Sound H2O

In the effects loop (that´s the advantage of a handbuilt vintage amp) the EH Holy Grail for reverb.

My other guitar, the Cort Hiram Bullock Signature, is only backup.

This setup is perfect for my style of music in the cover band (Blues, classic rock, RnR, some country).

Thanks all for the notes so far - great to see so many versions of the 'Holy Grail Tone' ... and don't drummers & vocalists have it easy ? Not that I'd want to change ...

Anyway, keep 'em comin' ! - some very interesting replies there, and a huge variety of gear already

Cheers,
Nick

I use an Engl Powerball as my main amp through a Mesa recto 2x12 cab with V30s and generally just plug the guitar of choice straight in since I'm not playing in a band/live these days.

Currently using my two babies in to a Blackstar series one 200 head+ 4x12 cab with V30s in it.I am only using a boss ME50 FX unit in the loop and an EBwah& volume pedal. Im hoping to upgrade my fx unit in the near future and buy a G system from TC electronics.

I do have two othe Zs and my Orange too. The amps often change. I used to have a large pedalboard and I think I've tried nearly every pedal of every make on the market and this is what I'm down to. THE THING is a BYOC OD II that a buddy of mine built for me. He also installed a delay doubler into the Aqua Puss. They are both awesome! Nice to see so many simple rigs on this board too! :)

This is my Home rig that Gets the job done. A Peavey 6505+ 1x12 combo. As for the pedals they are always changing but as of now I am using a Dunlop Zakk Wah, Dyna Comp, Phase 90, a Way Huge Aquapuss delayand Porkloin Overdrive, and a Planet Waves Tuner.

Is your 2x12 closed or open back? If closed - try the Greenbacks, if open, try replacing one of the V30s with a G12H30. I have found those combos in those particular cabs works very well.

Good luck!

Very simple for me at this point, but it sounds pretty good. Looking into an AxeFx down the line.

EBMM Y2D into BB Preamp, Suhr Riot, into Blackstar HT20 head, Mesa Boogie 3/4" 1x12 cab, and DD3 Delay in the loop. That's it!

Definitely getting some more fun stuff for the board though. Need a nice chorus and probably getting the TC polytune and TC flashback.

Hello,
I used to play through a Marshall JCM 800. I still have it, but play it infrequently since my Gibson Super Goldtone is far superior.
The electronics are soldered with gold solder and have gold plated connections in there, I think...Plays like BUTTA...

It was made by Trace Elliot, in England. I used to have a green covered T.E. half stack that sounded just as good.
