Since it appears that no actual LE Bongo actually made it to NAMM, could you please post an actual photo of the actual Bongo that the attached photo is a photo of?

That pic is actually my Bongo with a pickguard photoshopped on. We didn't make or bring a Bongo 5 Blue Dawn to NAMM. We brought the Petrucci and the Sterling HH.

thanks for the info Ball family!
And I must say that is a helluva great looking bongo, now that I have seen it bigger than avatar size! :)
Although the one I've seen dave larue playing (in pics.) seems to have a little more of the sparkle thing going on.
I wonder if the 2007LE is gonna be more akin to dargin's or dave's?
Also, that blue tolex case is just awesome.
I know if I saw another bassist walk into a bar with that thing inhand, I'd be itchin' to see what the heck he kept inside.

The official word is that Dargin's is the same color as the Sterling at NAMM, sparkles and all. I don't see sparkles on Dargin's bass, but I suspect it's because it was not photographed with a flash. Flash makes the sparkles jump and seem larger than they really are.

I've seen Blue Dawn in person, and the sparkles are much, much smaller than the flash makes them look...or at least they were on the bass I saw. Since they're actual flakes, I suppose that the factory can make them any size they want. Smaller is better IMHO, but that's just me.

Hmmm...I wonder...who mixes the paint? I suspect (total guess) that these are automotive finishes cooked up to order by a specialty supply house.

One cool thing about LaRue's bongo and hopefully '07 LE Bongos, is that the back of the neck is finished in Blue Dawn as well. I can't decide which Blue Dawn to get.
Bongo, Pet, Luke, Silo Bass.? I just know I want one (more).

I've got the same damn problem. I've thought about getting every one of those you mentioned with the addition of the AL until BP told me he didn't think it was a great idea to get an AL in BD because of the large pickguard.
