I went to a worship conference this past weekend and 3out of the 4 bass players were playing Sting Rays...

I actually leaned over to a friend of mine and told her Make, Model, Color, P-UP config, and Pickguard color... It's an Obsession...

And One of the guitar players was using a Fully loaded Axis Super Sport... talk about an amazing guitar...

I think most endorsement deals are kind of vague anyway.

I'm sure Kirk and James can play whatever they want with little to no repercussions.

I think their only clause is that they have to perform (live) with ESP. They can record with whatever they want. I've seen video of them using EBMM, Danelectro, Fender, Gibson.

It would be cool if EB did a metal guitar for someone. Some of us still like to play metal but we're too old for pointy guitars.

I think EBMM makes guitars that are readily suited to just about every playing/musical style. Look at the signature artists:

Petrucci
Lee
Lukather
Madden
Morse

You're covering some wide and varied musical styles, and that just the sig models.

Buy an Axis, slap a skull sticker on it, and you're ready for metal.

In fact, they showed Rob Trujillo jamming with them on a 5 string Stingray/Sterling (don't know the basses as well, but I can spot the EBMM pickguard from a mile away).

It was a Stingray 5. In fact, after the audition Lars Ulrich leans over commenting about Trujillo's sound. "That's one massive sound you've got there" or something...
He didn't do that with the other players that came in, playing de-tuned P-basses and stuff. I'm not saying that he got the gig cause he played the Stingray but it certainly didn't hurt! When you want to rock hard and deep a Musicman will do. It's common knowledge among bass-players;)

I remember that, I really enjoyed that movie and I'm not what you'd call a fan
