Hi BP and Team,
Just wondering what types of woods have been considered in the design so far and what each has resulted in adding or subtracting to the overall tone?
Any thought as to types of changes to the bridge or is it already too good to mess with?
Also, is there a specific gauge of strings that they are designed around as a target or is it the other way around?

I'll seize the acceptable thread-jack opportunity, and say "BP, you are an inspiration" The 60 lb weight-loss thing is reality-tv worthy. (How about "The Biggest Winner")...we can all benefit from your example. Calories in vs. calories out...a simple equation, but most, (myself included), severly underestimate calorie intake, (unless you count..., it's a WAG) and severely overestimate calories burned...(one packet of sugar/100 calories, = 1 mile run!!!) Watch what you eat, exercise regularly, and plan on living to see the EBMM 50th anniversary model of your choice. -Capt. Don

This is a teaser shot for the guitar side but we are offering it on the anniversary model
THere is Basswood, then the tone block (mahog) and the semi hollow but done in a special chamber pattern that I dont understand but it looks cool to the engineers....... Yes a semi hollow is on e of the tidbits being offered in this new machine

That chamber pattern is very different..I like it already.
And I thank BP for sharing his tips on losing some pounds. Although I have always been on the slender side..whenever my pants start feeling a little tight I simply cut out carbs (anything that comes in a box, bread, pasta and junkfood) and add more protein and veggies to my diet and in no time I need the belt again. And a little walking never hurts.

Ooh.
That looks a lot like a waveguide to me.
A waveguide (and just to be crystal clear, I'm not suggesting that this is what is actually shown in that photo) is the kind of thing that's inside those Bose Wave radios. It's basically tightly folded horn...lets you get amazing bass out of a tiny speaker. The idea goes way back to the Klipschorn speakers of the late 50s as far as I know.
How that idea would translate to the chamber in the body of a guitar escapes me at the moment, but that doesn't mean it isn't what's going here.
Is it a tuned port of some kind, or is it structural, to provide more support for and coupling between the top and bottom of the body?

It looks like a marble maze! It looks like it's going to be good and I am glad that weight and balance are going to be priorities (as I'm sure tone and playability will be) for this design.
