I restrung 2 of my guitars - my LEAL with 09's and my JP6 with 10's.

I have to say that I am very impressed with the 10's on the JP6. I don't find it much of an adjustment when using the JP6.

So as i have read in the past about people having tuning issues -if ya do have this issue, try changing from 9's to 10's. Loving it!!!!
edit
anybody gone from 9's to 10 and wondered why they hadn't done it before?

Yep. Started with 10's went to 9's for a year or so and then went back to 10's. It made a huge difference on my Axis, I really liked the change. I'm not sure why I went back to 9's, but I'll stay with the 10's thank you.

i tried to love 9's, but my hands are too big and they just don't work for me. I put 10's on my 25th and loved em, but even now, they're feeling flimsy, I don't know what to do!

For me, it depends on the guitar. 9's on the Axis, because that's what came on it and it chords well and stays in tune better than anything else I own. All the rest of my solid bodys get 10's. I have an archtop with 11's and an acoustic with 11 phospher bronze. (jack looks around for any other guitars...no, that's all of em).

Yes! It was nearly 4 years ago, but the very same feeling. Took me a few weeks to get used to it, but I won´t go back. Ever since then I wonder if going to 11´s would be as good? But I think I would have to work every nut, so I didn´t do it so far.

Yeah I know what you mean. People may be puzzled by me posting such a thread, but honestly, it has made a hell of a difference and I'm enjoying playing it.

Only 10s for me as well...they just feel and sound perfect. I think it's the perfect balance...when I got my LUKE a little while back (which I traded for the Y2D) I was having some fun with the 9s, but I ended up putting 10s on her and it was just right. I'm loving the coated slynkies on both the Silo Special and my Y2D...every time I pick them up its a joy to play, but I'm sure you guys know all about that with EBMMs :D.

You think maybe the reason some have issues with 9s is bc JPs come with what, like 11s? The wider nut slots could be the issue.

Fortunately 9s work fine on mine. Only have 2 springs on mine and it flutters like crazy too.

I use 9's on my Axis and luke, but yesterday I bought a Silo Spec which has .10's. After lowering the action I'm really liking it..might change on the other two aswell!

When first got my JP6 (coming from playing an Ibanez JEM and a Jackson SL2H) I took the 10's straight off assuming 9's would be better. I then broke a string within about a week and only had some 10, so I popped them on and did a full set up (truss rod, bridge, intonantion, saddles... Everything) and never went back. Some guitars I love 9's and will only ever use them, but on the JP 10's just felt so much better. I've since had a bit of a 'go as heavy as you can' mentality, and am using 11-54 on my Strat.

I don't have that JP anymore, I was gunna trade up for a JPX but got distracted after selling the 6 and bought a Universe and a Strat instead. I'm seriously missing it now, so I'll probably try and get myself a BFR of some variety in the next month or two.

It will have 10's, lol.
