We haven't stopped praying for Baby Tom. I second taking BP advice---whatever helps Tom out. He is a beautiful, joyous baby; Very adorable indeed!

Well, we just got back from the hospital, where Tom had a appointment to see how the operation he had 4 weeks ago has been progressing. Unfortunately its very bad news, what we had been fearing all along. The operation was a 100% complete failure, its pretty devastating really, very numb feeling. We now wait until he's big enough to accept a liver transplant, should a liver be available and if he's in good enough health too. The estimated time is about 12 months, he isnt gaining weight like a normal baby. His stomach has ballooned out from the liver being full of bile. In that time its gonna be very hard, every week for the next 12 months we have to go to the hospital for blood tests and other various tests, we just have to work hard to keep him alive and well basically, there are no guarantees. Here i was thinking everything was fairly good actually, he seemed to be coping well from the operation, but in the last few days its gone downhill a lot. Very sad for us, life aint meant to be this hard. I just like twangin on my balls and having a happy time, hey maybe i need to order a new guitar to help ease the pain, i havent lost my humor yet!!!!!!!!

someone post a pic of an AL to lighten up this thread!!!!!

Man, I hate bad news!

Never lose faith, Rob... We're all thinking of you and your family!

Even though I live half way across the world : if there is anything I can do to help, anything, just give a shout... (and I'm sure a lot of fellow forumites feel this way)

All the best for little Tom, Rob!

So sorry to read this Rob, it is clear that everyone here is rooting for all of you.

Taking one day at a time is the way to go, gain strength from all the positive vibes. Have you thought about taking up BPs kind offer?

I'm really sorry to hear that Rob. You and Belinda really don't deserve this.
It's not over until it's over. Fight the good fight and stay positive. Try and think of it as just another battle. We all have them at times. Don't accept anything for less than you want it to be.
Fingers are still crossed here, and they'll stay that way as long as needed!

In the meantime, just keep visualizing your little guy growing up to play with your BFRs. :)

BTW: staying positive is not just ignoring the bad things. It's about truly believing what you think you want to believe. Your baby will feel your aura and his body will respond accordingly.
