After some in and outs, here's the current herd. When I was taking the pic, my 3yo was in the room and I asked him which bass he likes best. He pointed to the Bongo :D

Ever have problems with the finish reacting with the hangers? That's always my concern about hanging them.

No probs at all - the hangers are solid plastic, not that soft foam padding that often causes finish problems.

What, no 5-strings?

What would I do with a fiver?

I also love your collection of old Fenders

Technically speaking, none of those are Fenders :D

3 of them are Nash Guitars, and the J (with a P neck) is a custom I had Alan Knight build for me.

Nice Family mark

Questions
Do you have problems with the body of the basses hitting the wall?
With the wood stripping that the hooks are screwed to did you have to re-inforce the wall with the use of wall plugs because I thought you could only get wall plugs that hold 10 kg. - If not what did you use
great Idea I might steal it!!!

thanks

Scott

Scott,

The timber battens that the holders are mounted to is around 20mm thick, so the basses hang clear of the wall. The battens themselves are screwed to vertical wall studs behind the plasterboard, with bigass heavy duty long screws, so no issues with weight capacity. It was easy enough to locate the wall studs with one of those electronic stud finder gadgets.

All I got to say is...... Mark , you do have the best taste in basses!!! I am looking at your picture thinking.....Those are the ones I would choose for myself( I have drooled so many times over Nash'es, just because they have the look). Well done Mark! Well done !:)

Aussies...

Thanks knackers!!!!

That made me laugh, I haven't heard that expression in quite a while. I suspect the term "knackers" might not mean much (in that context at least) to many forum readers, unless they are familiar with the Australian vernacular. Nevertheless, it's well understood by the likes of me !!
