I have an older (2005) JP7 and I have been considering upgrading the pickups rather than buying a new model. I was wondering if anyone had tried the upgrade to the Dimarzio crunch lab or liquifire and if there is anything I should be on the lookout for (spacing, etc). Also, does anyone think its worth it?

I would leave it. The old pickups were good. Many people prefer them to the newer sets.

i like either the blaze or the liquifire more than whatever the old neck pickup was. but if you're happy with it don't upgrade, spend the money on food instead :)

fwiw, i replaced the original set with the crunch lab/liquifire...and have not bonded with them at all..mind you i was not crazy about the original set either; clearly just not my style/sound. I just ordered some BKP rebel yells and should be getting them in a few weeks! I was in a similar position: replace the guitar or just do the pups--hopefully the rebel yells do the trick.
