Thanks everyone. I literally looked through *every* one on the GC Platinum site. I really was hoping for green, red or blue, but none of the tops stood out as much. I just kept coming back to it. It plays great, but the setup was poor out of the case (way out of tune... neck had a bow in it, frets were buzzing). Nothing major that a little adjustment of the truss rod and a quick tuneup didn't fix. I blame the setup more on GC as the guitar had clearly been taken out of the plastic,etc... GC didn't even send the right tremolo arm (black as opposed to chrome) they are sending the right one, but still?

Overall I'm extremely happy with it. I just hope I don't catch a bad case of EBMM G.A.S... I can't afford it!

Congrats! That is a real stunner. Sorry but if the guitar was taken out of the plastic the set up issue falls on GC and they could of at least had a tech set it up correctly before shipping it out just as a courtesy.

This is one issue I believe too much emphasis gets put on for all guitar builders and one I personally find unfair even in magazine reviews. So many guitars are shipped all over the country and the world and a lot then find themselves in warehouses for sometime before getting sorted out. I never expect a guitar to come out of the box to play the way I like it because my guitars are set up a bit different from factory specs to begin with. A back bow is not one that happens often and not what I would like to be greeted with, but most likely was 80% caused by the guitar going through climate changes. Glad that you have it set up fine now and for the bad news- chances are very high you will be hit with serious EB GAS. But honestly thats a good thing lol.

I ran into the same sort of issue when I ordered my tribute. I ordered it from GC in Texas and it was shipped to my house in New York. It was ground shipped, so it went from a warmer Texas to a cold snowy New York and whatever climate conditions it was met with along the way. They detuned the guitar for shipment and there was a little bit of a back bow when I received it. All sorts of fret buzzing and sharp fret ends. So I had to adjust the truss rod and put a humidifier in my case to take care of the sharp frets, and then readjust the truss rod some more. It took a few weeks for everything to stabilize, but it's in top playing condition now and the neck feels like butter.

I know it didn't leave the factory that way and EBMM doesn't have any control over what happens after it leaves.
