Hi there everyone :D

Does anyone know of a dealer in the US who ships JP7's to the UK? I'm currently trying to find the cheapest way of obtaining one in the UK as the prices over here are well above my budget. If I was to score a good deal from somewhere in the US I should be able to afford one alright but most of the websites I can find aren't willing to ship to the UK (which I can understand) and mostly stock the BFR JP7's whereas I'm only after a standard JP7 in something like Mystic Dream/Desert Gold.

I'm obviously keeping my eye on eBay but there haven't been many show up since I started looking for them and the ones that have wouldn't ship to the UK either.

You can't buy new instruments directly from US retailers. It's EB policy.

I say: keep your eyes on Ebay and on the "For sale" thread on this forum, they come up every once in a while. Or find a good dealer in the UK...

Hey John , Glad to see another member from Scotland....

You can't import Balls fromt he US to the UK - it's not allowed!

Dealers will get in trouble if they sell to the UK.

DaveB is a UK dealer and on the forum here - he'll sort you out - Machinehead Music, Guitar Shop - Where service counts!

or if your budget won't stretch to a new one there's always loads for sale in the used threads/ebay treasures.....

Smelly.

Hi John,
can't happen. the dealer agreements that EBMM have set up are there for everyone to benefit from, the customer/the dealers/EBMM themselves. Best is to watch EBay for a used one or talk really nicely to your local shop, offer them your first born, and see if they can sweeten the deal for you ;)

Yeesh that was fast, thanks a lot.

Ok so my only option is to keep looking on eBay/here then as I definetely can't afford a new one. That's annoying as I'm just about done waiting to buy one now!

I knew about machinehead.co.uk and figured I wouldn't be able to afford one but just out of curiosity, how much do JP7s tend to cost on there?

Hi John....I hope all is well on the other side of the pond. Contact Dave at Machinehead directly for a price quote. Let him know that your a new forum member and what exactly your looking for. You can also contact Strings & Things, our UK distributor, directly to see what UK based dealers may have a JP7 in stock. Give your local UK dealers a shot, you may be surprised.

Cheers!

Hey john mate, welcome to the forum.i feel your pain.its atough one to call alrite because these guitar retails much higher in europe than in the us.i bought my BFR JP6 from machinehead and had to wait 6months.its abeautiful guitar and im thrilled with the purchase.these guitars are top top of the range even the standard JP6/7 so you wont go wrong when buying one.
when i started using this forum and checked out us retail prices i was abit shocked with the price comparison to be honest.they dont like us talking about prices of these instruments openly on the forum but if you send me aprivate msg then il let you know how much i paid.if you were planning atrip to the states for aholiday you could pick one up there and bring it back with you.:)

Hmm this looks suspiciously like the one I saw on eBay the other day which wouldn't ship outside the U.S....but it does look interesting!

Thanks for everyone elses help, I've definetely got a lot to think about now. I'll keep my eyes peeled for something in the sale thread and make sure to get in touch with Dave at machinehead if I eventually need to go new.

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum!

I encourage you to use your local dealer in the UK. Hey, they might even have some used pieces on the wall for cheaper than a new one - why go international and pay freight, brokerage and VAT? (which I heard is around 17% in the UK)

If you import the instrument yourself, your warranty is no longer valid, so there's also something to keep in mind.

I hope you find what you want. Stick around, there's a great bunch of people on here!
Cheers,
Beth :)

Smelly, thank you for directing him to Dave! You really can't go wrong buying through him, he's a top-notch dealer who will treat you like a king.

John,

Bear in mind that Dave at Machinehead also has used instruments in his inventory. You might give him a shout either way.

I second the DaveB at Machinehead call - I've had two EBMMs from there and he's a nice bloke to boot.

Wow I really should log on more often - people saying nice things about me!

Seriously though I appreciate the kind words - I was once on the buyer side of the fence and was quite vocal in my discussions about US/UK pricing. However its the same with Levis, cars, trainers, CDs, Apple Macs, iPods etc..........

In the store now I try to be as competitive as possible but offer (what I hope) is a first class service.

We dont have any JP7s new or used at the moment - but I am meeting up with the Strings & Things guys at NAMM next week so I'll ask for you John.
