They're Alnico and parallel,
Even though it was made in 04, it still is alnico?
I believe they are, yes. They are essentially what later
became the classic stingray, minus some of the fancy
woods and finishes. (Slab body, sr4 style pickguard,
2band eq, vintage neck plate, ...)
Uh huh. Any EBMM SUB is entirely USA built of USA
components from other EBMM basses ... but the mix
of components does vary from the non-SUB EBMMs.
Even the poplar body wood is not totally unique to
only SUBs. There were some poplar-bodied SRs.
My USA SUB Sterling has the alnico, but unlike other
USA SUBs it has a 3-band EQ. And it also has a 4-bolt
neck joint and plate, like an SR and unlike a non-SUB
EBMM Sterling 4. Yet is has the non-symmetrical PG
identical to a normal USA Sterling but does NOT have
the extra fret as found on USA Sterlings. Very hybrid,
and so a rather rare set of features amongst all MMs.
And acoarst it kicks butt, deeeep alnico butt kicking![]()
FWIW, said deep butt kicking SUB wears Cobalt flats !!!
I like the new PG! Looking good
Wow - I didn't realise they had a different neck joint as well -
those US Sub Sterlings are pretty rare as well.
I bought a US Sub 5 Stingray last year - it's a white one so
also pretty rare - it sounds great.
