I finally got a response to my question regarding the weight of the bass: "8lbs."

I'd be skeptical though.

He didn't indicate what kind of scale was used and I've learned the hard way that weight estimates can be off by more than a pound if a bathroom scale is used.

Still, it doesn't sound like a heavy one and if I had the cash I'd be tempted.
