I have been using this for years as is, but i have noticed that the front pickup is reversed from images i've seen online. i.e. the tan half of the pickup's face each other, but mine are set up the same, so the tan coil faces the neck. Is there any reason to change this? Is there a way to make sure these are the original stock pickups?

Chris,

Fourth post in more than eleven years - drop by a little more often, buddy! :)

Post up some pics and we'll bring the hive mind to bear.

2 in the last 2 days, i'm on fire! I love the birds eye maple neck! Not a fan of the tremolo system. I think i need to reverse the pickups, also it could probably use a setup, it seems the height of the strings off the lower frets is much less than around the 12th fret.

I would simply rotate the neck pickup through 180 degrees! It may have been swapped out, then replaced by the previous owner, and simply re-fitted the wrong way round. The wiring will be correct (your ear will tell you!) but just screwed in the wrong way round. Simple fix!

Hi Chris,

I am thinking that the pickups may have been swapped out. Hopefully, the previous owner put in different pickups and then put the originals back in (one the wrong way) when he sold it. You can look at the back of the pickups to get a good idea.

I remember asking him after i received it and he said that he didn't like the way it looked so he reversed them (thought it was odd myself)...i will take a look tonight at the back.

Thanks.

I took a picture of the pickup, does this appear to be original?

When i switched it it seems to sit a little odd...the tan coil is much lower than the black one...is this normal? (see pic)

I'm pretty sure it is. I think N2 is the right number. I would flip it back the way it was new from ebmm.

I bet if you contact ebmm or dimarzio customer service they could tell you for sure.
