I’ve been watching this… http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7358914253&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

I’m concerned about the little dings mentioned, I called the guy and he says they are about the size of a BB, now with me being a perfectionist this sort of thing bothers me. But do you guys think the price counteracts the character marks, seems pretty reasonable to me. But I don’t want to blow money; I do plan to order a new 2 pickup Sterling soon. Sometimes a few blemishes make me more comfortable about taking a high grade bass to the drunken blues jams. :D

All opinions are appreciated, thanks.

Dings are cool as long as they are deducted from price. As you point out, less paranoia with dings, plus more jingle in pocket. My Sabre looks like it spent the last 1/4 century riding naked in with the drum hardware. Fender's "Relique Shoppe" got nothing on this baby, but it was priced right and everything works, like it went a few rounds with Iron Mike but somehow never lost an ear.

Chuck,
I was going to say that "lefty's can't be choosy"... but you're a good guy. :D

If you need a beater then this might be a good one to jump on.

p.s. sorry to hear about the gig...

Phatty, would you write my a wife a note and explain this to her? :D

Dear Mrs. Pyscho,

Mr Psycho needs a new bass. Yes, "needs". This is a complicated psychological condition where "want" becomes "need". The poor dude just lost his regular bass gig and needs to substitute the enjoyment he got from that gig with other bass related goodness. As a professional person that does professional stuff and buys Sterling basses, it is my reccomendation that he get a lefty Sterling ASAP.

Yours truly,
Arin Sarkissian

I have more dings in my sterling, and i dont even really notice them.

Im a perfectionist too, but when it comes to dings, a bass is meant to be played.

Well this migh just be me but I know whenever I am really concerned about not getting dings in my basses I always end up bumping into things more. Now I treat every bass as a "beater" and they're all in pristine condition. Go figure.
