Used the Ray for Musical (show: 'Return to the Forbidden Planet')
Hey everyone. I have just finished performing the musical 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' at college. I was playing bass in the band (obviously) and it turned out to be a great show - we had a big band with brass, 2 pianos, 2 drummers, 2 guitarists, the whole cast singing...and me. What can I say? The stingray cut through so well I couldn't believe. After the show I had people complimenting my sound and playing, and I was only running through a Roland Jazz-Chorus 2X10 amp. (which is ancient, but does sound very nice with the bass, and pretty powerful). It is a flat EQ amp, so my EQ was completely on the bass, in which I dipped mids a bit, boosted bass a bit and kept treble flat.
I would be interested to see if there were any recordings I could show you, so I'll look into that.
As with everything that I take to school, it gets wrecked too. My Qtron ended up broken and my Ray got a nice big dent in the back. Not that bad really, but still annoying.
