"Laredo" is the name I am on all bass/guitar web sites. It came from my history with Rickenbacker Basses. I had several models, but seemed to favor my Laredo's..............So when I started hanging around bass web sites, I just used the name Laredo. Now, I don't even own a Rickenbacker!!!!

;)

Ahhh, don't feel bad....I had two at one time....and now I don't own one either!

The reason behind the name is after buying my first Ernie Ball Music Man Bass back in 1986 I Have loved the changes Ernie Ball Has done and I haven't stopped buying them ever since.

Avatar- Is just a few of these great Basses.

I don't have an avatar yet...I did not even notice until I saw this thread...LOL! Guess I should come up with something. My nickname came from Tom Dowd. His name is Tom, my name is Tom, and I was fortunate enough to know and work with Tom Lord-Alge...another Tom. One day we were recording something and he turn around and said Tom mix this for me while I go have a smoke. When he came back about 6 minutes later (that is where I get the term "6 minute mix from") he sat down and listened and said "Sh&&&&&TTTTT son, THAT is the mix...print it! From now on I am just going to call you Tom Mix"...I liked it and it stuck around Miami back in the day and I have been using it as an online nick ever since...I put tom and mix together and added the second x because there was a cowboy movie star back in the 30's or 40's named Tom Mix and that would come up when you search for it... Most people know me in the world as just T and when I sign autographs I just sign T...I have a few long time friends that work with me who still call me Tom Mixx but their numbers are dwindling...

Peace,

T

Keep 'em comin'

Hope everyone is enjoying this as much as I am; thanks for all the responses.

Some (but not all) of the ones I was most curious about have already responded!

Here's the challenge: I WANT EVERYONE WHO READS THIS THREAD TO RESPOND!

It gives the forum a "personal" element allowing us to "know" each other a little better.

It took forever and a day for me to learn to say my name "Bryan" when I was a kid. I called myself "mynan" long enough for it to stick with my parents and then spread to most of my family and a few friends.

The avatar is obviously a DD2 fret marker.

Mine is from a typing error, or my name might have been over the amount of allowed characters.

I was trying to type "LeftyGuitarBlues" with an "s" for obvious reasons that go with being a lefty and once i registered, the "s" was left off and there it is.

I usually just change my avatar when I'm bored or to go with the season. Speaking of, it's time to get my pic of a naked Dizzy holding my guitars in time for Valentine's Day. :D

Mogee came from when I used to play Galaxies. He was my Sulustan pilot named Mogee Maleeg. Since then Mogee has been my online "name" for just about everything for about 6 or 7 years now. Pronounced Mo rhymes with no, and gee rhyms with key.
I change my avatar every now and then. Currently it is a Ray I had three Balls ago. I am due for a change.

When Blue's Clues first was on the air, Steve Burns was the "host". After about 100 episodes (c 2002), he retired, because as he put it, he didn't want to lose his hair on TV, and the people at Nickelodeon wouldn't let him shave his head as he wanted.

After he retired, he put out an alternative rock album called Songs for Dust Mites.

I wanted an adjective to go with Dust Mite, so I stuck Fuzzy on it.

My avatar is my Candy Red Bongo 4H. It currently has a white pearloid pickguard on it.

Mine came about quite simply because I am a nuclear engineer who plays punk rock.

Just kidding.
It's my favorite Van Halen song and kind of expresses my outlook on life.
And I'm an architect. (Doesn't have anything to do with the name, though.)

User name = Spanky(Andy)... I like to play slap (spank the plank) and my name is Andy.

Avatar = pic of Altoids "Curiously Strong Mints" tin...

I've just received the fretless Dargie Delight II Big Al bass I bought from this forum, so am officially now an ALTOID, which is the Big Al bass equivalent of being a Bongoloid, but somehow fresher and more minty :)

Cheers

I'm a patent attorney, hence the username. My avatar comes from a pic I took. I was giving a speech to the Nevada Inventor's group at a Moose Lodge in Reno. When I pulled up, I saw that sign which reserved a parking space for their Exalted Ruler. I had to get a pic!
