Hi Gang, considering getting an EBMM guitar and was wondering about the boost feature on the Valentine. If the battery dies, will the guitar still have output or is it dead, like my Clapton Artist Series guitar…?

Thanks!

Not merely dead but really most sincerely dead. On the positive side, the battery in mine seems to last approximately forever. I carry a spare to the gig, and if I can't remember when the last time I switched the battery out, I will drop a new one in as a precaution. I have gigged a Cutlass (which also needs a battery to fly) as my main guitar for the last 3-4 years and never once had a problem.

Music Man say you can expect about 200 hours plugged in with the Valentine. With my Cutlass it functions very well at low battery levels, I only notice it when there is a small drop in output and a little distortion buried in behind the normal tone. I have never run a battery so low it quit unexpectedly, ever.
