Nah, the snippy snippy worked fine, but I do have a new baby:

10:30a and I can't stand the wait. I head down to our shipping/receiving guy and see the big brown truck sitting there. I stand gazing longingly into the truck. It appears they're at the end of unloading and nothing for me, even though brown's website says it's on time and due today.

Wait! There it is in the back behind somebody's useless stuff! I grab it and head for ze hills, the hills in this case being my cubicle:

First indoor pic taken, I cut the tape and take a quick glance. Gleefully I trot outside to the parking garage to get some sunlight shots:

And behold, a chorus of angels sing out as the case is cracked and my Sterling HH Radiance Red Rosewood with White Pearloid PG is revealed in the full Phoenix sun:

I was stressin' since even though brown's site said it was en route and on time, the tracking info hadn't been updated for 3 days and still showed it sitting in Hodgkins, Il.

Mucas gracias to Pete DuBaldo who was amazing through the months of wait and me popping in by email every month or so for a status check. Even with the stressfest that was his JP clinic, he was able to get the bass in his shop and turn it around out to me with minimal delay. I can recommend him highly!

Ordered on 10/03/05, born from the factory 3/20/06, in my grubby little hands on 4/7/06.

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing. When I started reading Pete's post about the unexpected bass sized box, I was thinking, "Crap! it got returned for some reason. That's why UPSs website hasn't been updated!". My heart was racing as I read that post.

I must say that as a recent vasectomy patient still waiting for the "all's clear" test that the title of this thread gave me shivers.

I know what you mean Steve. It's a nice feeling when the "all's clear" bell rings. I wouldn't want to have to go through it again, either to repair a botched one, or to reverse one.

From your tales, you had it quite easy. I was up and around, but sore and swollen for about a week.

is at the tail end of that week. I'm wearing a jock with a ballsack about the size of an orange.

Yup...went easy as can be after a few days whacked out on Percocet. Was back in "business" after 3 days.

Congrats on the new bass, looks real sweet.

Is it me or does the pickguard look like plain white to anyone else?

could you take a closeup of the bottom of the fretboard, it looks like there's some really cool coloring on the right side

That it does my friend. A nice light coloring all down the G string from the nut to the last fret, largest between frets 12 and 17:

Aside from the revolting image which is that picture, the Rad Red Sterling HH will compliment your wristbands and undies nicely.

EDIT:
Maybe if you wore some 4" pump heels in the same red it would look better..... but I doubt it :(
