I went digging through my photo vault at home and found my pics from the factory tour - including all the beautiful vault basses that BP had hanging on the wall (and one that was a little crispy). That weekend was epic. I'm looking forward to seeing which basses get reintroduced to sunlight next...

Well, even though it was the SECOND one and not the first - and even though it had not seen the light of day since the Reagan years - it was still one fine machine. God, I still adore SR5s.

More! More! Please!

So BP, with the prototype pic of the first SR5, it got me thinking. I love my Bongo's but what was the reason behind painting the necks with the exception being of the BFR Roasted Neck Bongos (of which I am a proud owner of one) and I think there was a Firemist Bongo with a Rosewood neck I believe? Not complaining I'm just curious that's all.

I believe because the Bongos look cool with that painted neck.
The roasted Bongo necks, especially the headstocks look crazy good too, but I would not like the shape in a pale standard maple colour. Would you?

Anything on the proto that was changed on the first production models?
They went from 19mm to 17mm string spacing.
