For an AX40? Personally, I'd be getting a push-pull 250k and coil split.

Well, I've got invaders in it and a brass sustain block and the middle clean tone is magnificent(except for the high end) as it is. And being a very energetic player I can see that in the "pull" position it wouldn't last a song. I may get tap switches though.

If the 250k solves the highs thing, I'll be a very, very happy camper. My trusty old lp black beauty is getting heavy. Although no guitar will ever match that tone and that neck, the ax40 is at least in the ballpark...if the highs go away.
