Found this on youtube tonight. I took a real good look at Steve's guitar. It looks like it was in the development stages. Very very cool...

Oh, great to see the first Morse proto in a vid!

I've got a guitar magazine called "Downbeat", it's from April, 1987 - Steve is on the cover with that very same Morse!
I'd love to have that instrument, although my Morse is great either!

I am almost 100% sure it's a different one. You see, his #1 is the first of the PRODUCTION models, that doesn't mean there were no prototypes before.

I know... hijacking .... forgive me, but may someone tell us something about this layout?

Yes, I'd like to hear a bit as well. I would really like to hear what BP would have to say about the Morse prototype. I'd bet that's an interesting story.
