Question Very early Morse

This very early Morse from April 1987 shows a number on the back of the headstock but can't be found in the serial no. database.

I'd like to know more about the history of EBMM's serial no. policy in 1987 and, if possible, about this particular Blueburst I was lucky enough to snag recently.

Great score! Looks like it's in fantastic condition. Very early serial numbers may not be in the database, it's normal and not a big deal. You can try contacting customer service directly and see if they can find any information (though bear in mind this is NAMM week and it'd be best to wait a week or so before emailing or calling).

Yes, this one is fantastic too, and it´s pretty light also. I once had one from 1990 but sold it because it was too heavy for me.

Wow. What a great find! That is in unbelievable condition. Before I saw the neck stamps, I though, "Nah, that is a more recent one." A score! Well done!

Just found this thread about #46/50 with pics that show same neck and body stamps. So mine obviously is as near as possible to the first 50 ones that were handsigned by Steve.

Morse 46/50 - Internal pics!

We don't often see the insides of these guitars - but cleaned up 46/50 before sending it "home" to EBMM for a refret and nut replacement and took some pics. I'm not sure the pickguard had EVER been off - and there was sweat/gunk underneath of it - yuck! So, check out the attached pics...

Yup- you're pretty close. I used to own #23- it wasn't really different than my '91, or any of the other early ones I played.
