Don´t know if this one is real, but I thought to mention this. Maybe someone is interested, although the price is horrendous.

Gitarre ''Music Man John Petrucci'' mit Koffer bei eBay.de: E-Gitarren (endet 01.12.08 21:00:00 MEZ)

The seller says:
The subject of the auction is a guitar ''Music Man John Petrucci''. This is one of the first produced guitars, serial number under 20, I could give more exact information under the telephone +0496107990197. The first 100 copies were personally selected and signed by John Petrucci. John Petrucci has used the first 40 copies to his own requires. I have a picture of two models, around the difference between the signature on this model and the signature on the models produced after June 2001. Please notify the selection of the wood at guitars the neck. The wood is unusually dark. The sound of this instrument is singular! (...)

I'm going to say that is legit, pending serial number verification. John signed some of the first batch that shipped in June 2001, and that signature is consistent with the signature on my first-run guitar.

You are right about the price being way up there, I have seen some go for the same price as silk-screened ones, and some for a bit more. That one is amazingly high, maybe the seller doesn't need to sell it, but if someone is willing to pay...

I've been looking at it for quite a long time now. The seller is probably nuts - the signature alone is not worth half the price he is asking. (Sorry, John is one of my personal guitar heroes, but You can get his sig during the clinics or as a part of the "Meet and greet tickets" on tour - plus You were there and have met the man, as opposed to just buying his signature placed on the neck). The guitar itself is absolutely stock...

But hey, we have so many crazy guys on E-Bay, and even more crazy people with money burning deep holes in their pockets, so he even may find someone to pay that obscene sum of money for a used standard JP with John's sig :)

plus he claims that it has a unique sound because of the "unusually dark" color of the neck...to me it looks just like a neck thats been played a lot (probably without washing his hands first, at least a couple of times)

Like Pete said this one is def. one of the first 100 Pets w/headstock signed by Mr. Petrucci. I have 4 of them. The most I've paid for one is 2,000 USD and that was a MD 7 string, so 7,000 Euros is WAY! too expensive. Good luck to him and
help to the poor guy/girl who pays that much for it.

He's havin' a larf!!:D

For that money, the guitar would have to be able to invest the new owner with at least a healthy dollop of Petrucci talent too!

the guy must be totally nuts, because the guitar didn´t sell at the first auction, he raised the price again....hm, seems to be the best way to sell it this time. ;)
