I was in the neighborhood of my nearest Guitar Center this afternoon (about 2 1/2 hours away), so I stopped in hoping to get my hands on an SBMM to try out. This GC usually has a few EBMM basses, but they've only had one EBMM guitar in the three years I've been visiting and it was used (if you don't count mine -- and probably a few others -- which have just passed through on their way to their owners). I was stunned to find a BFR ASS, a JP and a Silo all hanging on the wall behind the counter. Not only that, but there was a guy in there playing a BFR JP, which I also thought was for sale and was waiting to get my hands on. Apparently, though, it belonged to the guy playing it and he was just in trying some other stuff out.
I really wanted to try out the BFR ASS, but it was at the ceiling and I have this thing about making people climb up and get one of those down when there's no way in hell that I can afford it. So I just admired it from the floor. Looks like things are looking up for guitars in my area ... and possibly down for my bank account.
