Question Very strange under the paint?

I have a black on black SR5 H maple neck. While cleaning it recently I noticed something strange. Under the paint, below the neck plate, I can see "Limited Edition 2005". Made wonder what else is under the paint. I removed the pick guard to see if maybe it was supposed to be a HS or HH. Nope only one pickup routing. There is a seam that is noticeable (looks like a two piece body). I wonder if there was a flaw in the body that was destine to become a Ltd. and they made it a standard???

Anyone ever see or here of this?

Run your serial number through the data base an see what comes back.

Since the 05 LE was a solid color (buttercream), I'm not sure the body flaw theory works.
