I am playing with my HH-loaded scalloped-neck Silo Special in Tampa. I am sorry about the mix- it wasn't my fault! But you can tell from the video that its my favorite guitar.

Wow! Loved your phrasing and tradeoffs. I agree w/ the mix but your playing is great. Thanks!

Also, did you scallop the whole fretboard? How deep? What caused you to do this and what does it do for you?

yes, the whole board...I didn't do it myself though, I had a pro do it. They are right to the top of the dots, I guess...fairly deep, like the Yngwie strat.
A big McLaughlin fan, I tried a guitar with it, and I find it relaxes the left hand- you only press until the string contacts the metal fret and no more. you can also get 'under' the string better...i play lightly, so i don't bend chords out of tune by pressing down (unless i want to!). some people like scallops, some hate it! but I bought my SS with the intention of doing this- it is my only scalloped guitar, but i like it a lot.

Tasty as always, Dave.

I don't recall, which HB's is your Silo loaded with?

Thanks for the kind words, all!
I have an Alnico Pro II in the neck, and a Custom Custom in the bridge. I use the CC for the low notes, the Alnico for the high ones.

Interesting, never heard of that approach before.
