The bass in the add was bought because I had “fanboy” love for a band and the bass player that played that bass. Lets just say that it is a great bass and while it filled my “fanboy” needs it never saw much stage time....
....fast forward to now. The bass in the add has been in consideration for the chopping block for the last few months to free up funds for a new bass for my new music project.
....here is the EBMM content. The new band is a full blown cover band playing big clubs, corporate parties, weddings, etc. I will have to play a hand full of different styles; finger style, with a pick, muted bass and I'll even attempt to slap, and I will need a 5 String. I didn’t consider the 25th out the gate. (I had just ordered a Big Al and maple top basses aren’t really my thing.) Then I did the review, played a hand full of riffs and got to thinking that the “two five” (as I like to call it) may be the way to go. It feels at home in my hands and it does more than my SR5, which is what I'll be playing in the mean time. This bass kills in passive mode! It has an organic growl that is different that what you are use to hearing out of your SR, STL or Bongo. Then turn on the electronics, route it in Series or Parallel change the pick-up configurations and enjoy a bass that sounds nothing like a Music Man did 25 years ago but if falls right into place with what they are doing today.
The 25th is not for everyone but it will work for everyone. I think everyone will like what BP and crew did with this bass.
**Video note. The audio was recorded through a Radial Bassbone set flat direct to the camera.
