Help! Volume drop off

Hi guys
J was playing earlier and the volume just went dead. I tried all the leads and I eventually found that when I messed with the tone knob it came back on. The tone knob was crackling and the volume now keeps coming and going. Can a tone knob mess the volume up. Would I need new pots/electrics

Doesn't sound too bad, but could be the tone knob is shorting out, or a loose wire that's grounding, etc.

Take the cavity plate off and have a look. Worst case, this should be an easy job for a tech. CS can help you out too.
