Hmmm the Backline cab can handle 400watts, not enough for the 1001, but definately the 700RB, so maybe thats the way I should go.

Well according to the Gallien Krueger website the 800 only has 200watts @8ohms while the 700 has 320watts @8ohms. My cab can handle both and I can afford both so I'm pretty sure I'll be gettin a 700RB head real soon. Thanks again guys, you really hooked me up.

Unless you plan on running your amp at maximum volume, it shouldn't be a problem. The 1001rb will give you room for expansion in the future.

well do you like your GK tone?
if you like save up for 700RB or 1001RB :)

i had used 1001RB and its superb

I bought a new 400RB IV head a couple of months ago and I am only running it at 8ohms into a 2x10 RBS cab and have the -14db cut in all the time and I am still not running it much past half volume.

GK = OK for LB
