I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I'd like to understand the active/passive volume pedal deal.

I've got a G&L tele (passive pickups) I play quite a bit and also a strat with active EMG's. I'm trying to figure out what volume pedal will work with both guitars, if there is such a thing.

If there are any educated guesses I'd love to hear what the deal is. Thanks in advance.

For use with passive pickups and non-buffered signals (high impedance), you want the high impedance version, 250k.

If you have actives (EMGs, etc.) or use the VP after a buffer then you want the 25k version.

If you want to use one with both, I'd say put a buffer in line with your signal and use the 25k pedal. Or put the pedal in your FX loop.
