One more question about this, i previously used my 250k VP first in chain. But, i'm now going to have to move it after my buffer. So the question is : Do i only need to replace the pot to a 25k in the pedal to make it suitable or is there anything else involved ?

Thanks

Oh, and another question ... in a passive signal chain, would plugging a tuner in the tuner out of the pedal add even more resistance (or is it impedance ?) to the circuit since it is all passive and therefore induce more signal degradation ?

Thanks again

There's nothing wrong with it first- it's just that you'll lose a little high end. If it isn't noticeably a problem, you're ok. People have used a volume pedal in front of the amp for ages. So just depends if it bothers you.

If you want to put it behind a buffer, you could still use the 250k pedal but the taper would be off. If that bothers you then you could swap pots or just look for the 25k pedal (swapping the pot can be a pain).

If it's always in the signal path then yep, absolutely. If it has a bypass switch (several do) then it's not connected when switched out.

Some tuners can load your signal significantly and take off high end. Another good reason to have a buffer there- you can run a tuner after the buffer (on a split out) and then it won't affect your signal.

Nice explanation... One question though: What is the air-speed resistance of a laden swallow?

I've similar question as Roburado: I've got guitar with passive electronics (MM JP) and I want use a volume pedal in effect loop. So the best option is buying 25k pedal like EB 6167, right?

Yes, that's right. Wherever there is an active (powered) signal, you want the 25k pedal.

Sorry Rob, missed that. No, ideally you want the 25k pedal in the loop regardless of what's in front of the amp. And yeah, two volume pedals is a lot! (Unless you're Steve Morse, in which case it's not enough ...)

Also, if you have a piezo equipped guitar and you used the "blended" output (even if the piezo volume is off), then your signal is active like the Luke.
