What I would like is quilt. I like quilt much more than flame. So, I voted for all quilt, but I know that's logistically going to be a huge problem. As I said, what I would like is all quilt. However, I'm a realist. I think for the good of all, we should keep things as originally planned by EBMM, in spite of my personal preference for quilt.

Maybe you kind EBMM folk should extend the option to use forumites, give us the option to choose! The general public never has to know ;)

If i was gonna get a BFR Luke, quilt for sure. but if it was flame i guess thats ok, does it really matter in the end?

I agree. My 20th Silo I got, because it sounded great and felt great. It's flame. If were willing to wait for a quilt, well...things might have been different. I just knew my guitar rocked. So, I got it. I think these instruments will be fantastic.

Steve how do you like this gig?

Hahahaha.. it's great sport! :D

I've gotten flamed for having the audacity to stick my nose into the way you do business, tried to derail several sidetracks, etc.

But hey... I did get to cross-post with Yvonne Elliman today, so I've got that going for me, which is nice...:D

i wonder if more BFR JP's will get ordered than Lukes? Im guessing heaps more. not that we'll ever know!

I don't have proof, but I think we've heard that the JP seems to be a bestseller. So it would make sense to me that a BFR version would also be extremely popular.
Especially since the BFR order counts are already beyond expectation!

Dang it! I knew that we couldn't keep these guitars secret for much longer...:(

It's a tough one for sure. I personally will not be ordering a BFR sight unseen.
I'd be bummed if I ordered a Ruby Luke, hoping for quilt, but got flame.
I'm just going to sit it out and see what stock the dealers end up with and go from there.

Maybe the answer is that if you want a quilt, your dealer checks the factory for availability first. Kind of a first come first served deal. If quilts are not available, then either you buy a flame, or put your name on a list for quilt.

Or better yet, lets all grab an ax and invade Canada! I hear they have many wild quilt up north ;)

Very simple for me. I want a sunburst/quilt JP.

When this is available - I'll buy one. Until then, I'll be waiting!:D

PS I'm kinda mind-blown that so many would take 'pot luck' on what comes out of the box! I don't like surprises.

I vote for "The original idea - quilt or flame for either model, luck of the draw."

I prefer the quilted Petrucci but I cannot be able to tell that the Luke cannot have a quilted top too. I cannot decide for the others. I prefer to wait to see the choices which my EBMM dealer will possess or go 150 miles away to see an other dealer choices. If I am not stunned when I see its choices, is that I wait for the next load. Maybe going to purchase a strandard model that its pretty good too.

Since I saw John Petrucci playing with the prototype in the DVD "SCORE", I want one as that one. I never focus on a guitar like that before. I know the tone of the instrument is essential as well as the diverse peculiarities of the instrument. But when you see gorgious guitar which exist, you can only wish to have one of it too. What carrie you to try a guitar? It's when you see it and it pleases you. Then you tries it. If you feel comfortable when you play with and when then you find that it has an incredible sound, there you are ready to buy it.

That's my point.

Me too. I've come to realise that my playing is at such a level that the fine details of the instrument do not make too much difference to the noises I make. e.g The JP suits me best but I'm sure nobody else could tell the difference between the noises I make on that or my Axis or Y2D come to that.

For me it's very much 'monkey see...monkey want'

Perhaps someone could ask JP if he'd have another think about his request not to make a sunburst available to us poor punters!;)

In a different thread, BP mentioned that JP actually felt the carmel-burst looked too "stodgy". I think the other reason its not offered is because its really reserved for the 20th Silos much like the Depurple Burst is reserved for the Y2D and Mystic Dream for the JP's.
