Well i sell them Both and personally i would go with the VOX more programmability and headroom than the Roland does ....the Roland is great as well but the settings are the settings, not a whole lot of room to move move but with the Vox you can program your own sounds and store them so your more apt to dial in a DT sound with the Vox than the Roland, and the big kicker ....10" speaker with the Roland and a 12" is in the Vox so your going to get better frequency response out of the 12
hope this helps

The AD30VT does have a 10" speaker.

I have no experience with the Roland, but I do have the Vox.
For a hybrid modeling amp, it's quite good actually, great for a newbe like me at least.
At that price point, the AD30VT is hard to beat.

If I don't go and splurge on a tube amp, then the Vox is probably what I'll be getting.
I've got to get rid of this Marshall MG30dfx. It's not happening. Then again, maybe the Dargie will make it sound better!

Just to go slightly off-topic, have you demo'ed the Roland Micro-Cube?? If it's just a little practice amp you are after then, I'd say it's better then it's big brother(s). Haven't heard the Vox though.

I've got the AD30VT Vox and love it, it does have a 10" speaker. The thing i like about it, is it has a wattage adjustment on the back, so what i do is, max out both volumes on the amp and then i use the wattage adjustment on the back of the amp for my overall volume. It rocks pretty good, nice and compact, only weighs something like 25 lbs. It's what i consider a really good, grab and go amp.

MicroCube is a bad-ass little cheapo amp.

personally

I didn't like my VoxAD30VT at all, a huge pain in the butt to use. Only thing I liked about it was some of the delays. IMO Modelling amps totally bite.

Instead get a great Champ amp, run it into a 2x12 cabinet, or a Princeton, and plug into one of the new Digitech RP250 pedals, or any of Digitechs GNX pedals

or just use a great straight solid state amp

Vox rocks IMO. I have the older 60w VT (the one that looks like a vintage vox) and it is a great little amp. You may need the foot switch for live use.
