Hey forum,
Has anybody played any of the Vox Valvetronix combos or heads? I played one at Guitar Center and I must say it sounded awesome. I kind of got turned off of the whole modeling thing after having the POD XT Pro during recording of my last cd because of the sterile sound I was getting. I played the VTX120 and man it smokes! It has all the sweet harmonic overtones the Line 6 POD XT Pro didn't have and none of the high end graininess the Line 6 POD XT Pro had. If anybody has a chance to play one you will be in for a treat.

Yes I have.
A good buddy has one and we also connect it up thro a 4 x 12.
I'm not good at describing the sound quality "good scouped mids, dark undertones etc, etc but what I would say is that it's a great amp that will suit many styles.
However it seemed to lack in the volume stakes. The vox 60 watt( I belieb) was a lot quieter than my Marshall 50.
It has great modelled tones. However my mate is being sucked into getting one of the Newish Peavey Valve (sorry tube) amps I think their called Valve kings (Yes they are - after I Googled)
