Demo vid for the curious.

Before the GameChanger I knew about MIDI and had done a few things on the computer for backing tracks but had never used it with any live gear. After my escapades with the GameChanger on Saturday I know that the possibilities are endless.

With one step on a stomp switch you could cue up sound samples, toggle stage lighting, eliminate your drummer, switch channels on your amp, toggle effects on/off, and I suppose you could even change your pickup configuration.

If you are a tweaker this is for you.

We're guitarists, we don't need to know how to control the sound board, we just need to find the fader entitled 'More ME!!!'

Cool, my Game-Changer bass should get to NY soon, but I won't be back there for about a month so I'll have to wait!

Have you messed around with some MIDI out stuff yet? I'm really curious about some of the possibilities with that.

No, I haven't tried that yet. This was my first time ever using MIDI and it took me long enough to accidentally stumble upon the right way to program it so it would properly interact with the footswitch and amp.

Great Video! I did not think of the midi that way but more you change PUPs selector and then it changes patch, but it's in and/or out so it's pretty cool

thanks for the demo really

Thanks for the demo Pete...I've been messing around with the web app just to get a feel for it. It's remarkably intuitive and easy to use even if I can only do "dry runs" at the moment...I can't wait to see/hear what the GC is capable of. Guess I need a few days off when mine arrives...:)

Thanks Pete... fantastic video! I admit to being somewhat intimidated by the GC... I'm not a big tech-wonk when it comes to my guitar. After seeing this, however, I may need a GC in my stable.

I've been messing around with the web application a LOT. I think I've got the MIDI settings how I want them. I plan on using MIDI IN to control the GameChanger preset with my Axe-Fx II and MFC-101. So when I select a program on the Axe-Fx, it will automatically select the proper pickup setting on the GameChanger.

I sure hope I get it, Pete. Assuming it works as well as I'm hoping, it will make those transitions from "Enter Sandman" to "Run Like Hell" a lot quicker.

I am trying to resist trying the midi because I totally get it but would love to switch to using a wireless and I can not so that if I use the midi! LOL

Pete does the piezo models have 2 1/4 jacks or did they switch to just one stereo jack to make room for the midi port?

Just thought of a question that kind of blew my mind. Can midi be mapped to any of the Bank z presets or only A1-5 and B1-5? If thy can be mapped to bank Z presets as well that make 25 possible presets that midi can draw upon! My head just started to hurt a little.

Great vid Pete!! Glad to see you are harnessing the power of MIDI on The Game Changer! I too was kind of "stand off-ish" when we started to discuss MIDI, but the power of MIDI is seriously untapped by a lot of artists due to its "complexity." However, once you kind of get it, you step back and say........I CAN DO THAT?!?!?!?

MIDI is only a controller.....it has nothing to do with Synths (although it can control them), it has nothing to do with effects, lights, amps, etc... (although it can control them too!!). Therefore if you think about it, you have a "controller" at your feet already, so when you push the switch to change your effect settings, MIDI will allow you to control multiple things at once, and you can change you pickup settings on TGC also with the same switch, at the same time!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!

As a guitarist/bassist, you also have a controller in your hands......The Game Changer!!! For years, we have all used the switches on the instruments to change only the instrument's tone, but what about using MIDI to do more than that? By simply using the pickup selector to change from neck to bridge pickup, you can program the TGC to send a MIDI signal out of the instrument to your effects, amps, lights, fan, etc.....UP TO 50 different commands! So instead of running back to your pedal board to change anything (think SOLO!!), you can simply flip the switch to your "solo" pickup, and change EVERYTHING you want in your rig, wherever you are on stage and rock!
