I cannot stand the minced meat ones though. My ex-brother-in-law use to make some killer pies!

By the way, when they're talking about it having gravy, it's not that weird white stuff that you guys eat with biscuits.

And another thing, biscuits are small round things that you dip in your tea. For some bizzare reason, you think that scones are called biscuits.

And as for grits......

I can't imagine gravy being anything OTHER than what goes on a roast dinner... mmmm.

Don't Americans call ALL biscuits "cookies"? When to us, a cookie is merely one type of biscuit...

I had biscuits and gravy one morning, because I was intrigued to see what it was. It lookeed like scones in some sort of white sauce with bits in it.

It was an experience that I won't be re-living!!

I'm the producer, occasionally I'll go on air (usually to apologize for things the boy's say). The funny thing is that day we talked about just ringing random US numbers and asking them about pies. So Keith didn't know what questions the boy's would ask. I just rang Keith asked him and he said sure. We have a few forum members who listen to the show which was funny as they heard it live. It's an interesting job, I've met so many people. Yesterday it was Mimi Macpherson (Elle's sister)

Azzy, we don't call biscuits cookies, we call cookies cookies! To me, a biscuit is a very specific type of thing that looks like a cumulus cloud, is very crumbly, and is often made from Bisquick. Biscuits are served as a 'bread' whereas cookies are sweet and would be a dessert.

Biscotti tread the middle ground.

And for Tiffles, don't worry.. no matter what you order it will never turn out to be something akin to vegemite! :D
