Anyone old enough to get the vague movie reference?
One of my adolescent favs!

I am looking forward to watching it again with my two boys (6 & 10) sometime soon! :D

Slow Down!

Big Poppa asked me to post a reply concerning my experience with a forum event.
I work for another manufacturer and we held several events for our forum members. We thought that we were doing something cool, but it got kinda weird when the forum members started to feel that they were part of the company. Some members started to act as if they should be part of our company's decesion making process and when they figured out that it wasn't going to happen, they started to slag us on the forum. The forum was privately run and not endorsed by our company. Eventually the person that started the forum decided to shut it down because he got tired of dealing with all of the whiners. This could be a really cool thing for all EB fans if everyone stays cool. Enjoy the day, celebrate the company, go home and bask in the glow.

Big Ditto here.

Boy, boy, crazy boy,
Get cool, boy!
Got a rocket in your pocket,
Keep coolly cool, boy!
Don't get hot,
'Cause man, you got
Some high times ahead.
Take it slow and Daddy-O,
You can live it up and die in bed!

Boy, boy, crazy boy!
Stay loose, boy!
Breeze it, buzz it, easy does it.
Turn off the juice, boy!
Go man, go,
But not like a yo-yo schoolboy.
Just play it cool, boy,
Real cool!

Holy cow! I was just listening to a Sammy Davis Jr. medley that contained a part of that tune! Never thought I'd see that here...

Fantastic point of view and a chance to learn from some one else's mistakes. I am looking forward to it. I think Miss Manners said something once about being a gracious guest being more important than being a gracious host. I am sure it is applicable here but I don't remember what it was. Hopefully I get the jist. If I go and no one there figures out who I am then that would be a success.

That story about the other forum (the one where all the psychos hang out, apparently) blows my mind.

You've got to have ZERO social skills not to realize how out of line that type of reasoning is...

That's like being invited to dinner and then assuming that makes you a member of the family (with your own room in the family home, to boot!).

Some forums (fora?) must be made up entirely of folks who never leave their keyboard to interact with the real world.

This is killing me! There's no way I can get away this year, what with my current project schedule.

I'm from down the road a piece (born in Santa Maria, lived in Halcyon), so the opportunity to see the factory, hang out with people I've known for years on the 'net, and visit my birthplace would have been a gas.

As would a chance to get some Santa Maria Pinquito beans!

Oh, well - maybe next time...
