OK - Peer pressure - POLL IS UP FOR WHAY WE DISCUSSED SO FAR!!!!!

ok - decided to put a poll up to thin down some of the choice, you'll notice no JP's listed, I'm not saying I'm against having one (although my brain can't cope with 24 frets) but if you want a JP cast your vote in the something else box.

Happy Voting...

we also know the Reflex is most likely coming at Summer NAMM... what if we just pick a limited color for a Reflex? then model and options are not a big deal and BP and Co can just worry about shooting a single color on a guitar they are already going to produce.

Emerald Green Reflex anyone?

Duuuudde! That is SO my dream guitar. Just add a piezo. If that's what ends up being this Knucklehead special, then my money is there!

just my 0.004 cents

Ok, I know I can't afford any kind of guitar, but it would be awesome to see a forum edition with the following specs:
- Silo special H-S-S (chrome covered HB), Swamp ash body, natural colour, all rosewood neck and a little cool graphic on the back.

Right guys, we all (Especially me) wandered off track here -

See post from Bp from deleted thread
guys we are not going to tool up for a run of fifty totally custom guitars. You are getting carried away if you think so....this is a cosmetic or wood kind of deal...no hss albert lee no jpx with a scoop.....

So I'm putting up a revised poll - which will be in keeping with Bp's post - we'll need 50 to commit to this choice then we'll do body types.
Please keep it on this thread, i don't want this locked, Please?

I''m sure I'll get flamed for this but... I'm always positive on here and always welcoming to new members or old. I like to have fun and joke with people, mainly Dizzy. :p This is a guitar forum, it's supposed to be a fun escape from life's drudgery. And it is, I have a blast here and I've made friends and I know everyone has their "dream" guitar and why not?
With that being said, EBMM has presented more new models and options in the last year than the other 2 years I have been on this forum. Isn't it good enough? People say that the AL is the greatest guitar ever or the 25th or the JP BFR and now the JPX which no one has even played. Now they present these new 2 HB AL's!!Oh my god, you AL lovers must be beside yourself!! But you still want something else? I just think thought that "The best guitar ever" meant just that. Why would you try to top it?

I'm really not trying to p*ss anyone off, I was just wondering.

carry on.

More fuel to the fire.

Are you going to do a special name for the headstock or just use the stock neck of the guitar that you use.

Slingy had sugessed “Knucklehead Special”. I’m sure there are lots of names to choose.

Here’s that name on a rosewood neck.

That's cool. I like that.

My preference would be something to do with a Luke. However, I recognize the JP is a bigger seller and there are good arguments to go with something like the silo special or even the upcoming reflex. Because of the difficulty in getting 50+ people to agree on all the specs, I will say this, for me to plunk down money for whatever this guitar turns out to be, it's got to have a rosewood neck. That's special and limited edition. Just my opinion.

Not to throw a damper on things, but 50 is a lot of people to agree on. I've had this come up with other makers agreeing to a run of guitars. It's been a lot less #'s required, but then you have the tire kickers who want something and don't pony up cash when needed. Track down a GC red axis or limited 25th if you want something special. Good luck!

Yup yup, Smelly, just make a nice creation, or several to choose from, and the most votes wins. Poll's with body shape, color etc. end up being unrealistic to get consensus with 50 people. What I don't understand though, that if it's just a color that is different for the "special edition", why can't there be several models? The only thing different, but apply able to all models, would be the finish? ;) 25 basses Knucklehead LE, and 25 guitars Knucklehead LE.

Lefty, I get what you are saying and agree completely. I think the original point of this custom guitar was to get a "Knucklehead only" guitar meaning a special color and maybe an option. Like a HSS AL or a Floyd on a Silo. But, where this gets out of control is all the "dream specs" everyone wants.

If anything we should just pick a Model, come up with a color and keep it simple like that.

A Silo or Silo Spec with a crazy color, all rosewood neck (keep it special and limited) and a KnuckleHead graphic like the Dargie 1 would probably be the easiest thing to do. The Pickguard would allow you to choose your own pickup config once you get the guitar (if you don't want the stock HSS). I think that with something simple like that BP would allow us the option of Trem/No Trem on each guitar according to personal taste and we would be done. (Maybe if we choose something simple like this BP may even give the lefties some love and include them) Then Next year, if it works we can choose another model and another color and go from there... It may be the only way to get it done...

And Lefty... there are so many cool models that EBMM makes that if and when this doesn't get done I know I wont be crying over not having one. Its a 2HB AL for me once I figure out what color I want...

I'm interested.

But I'm not going to voice an opinion on options or finishes. Make sure to post a thread of what you guys think up :)

My vote is still to follow the Dargie method and make something that could apply to every model, but not require a complete re-write of the existing models.

Roasted Maple for example could go on any model. A standard color could be used as well. All subject to BP's approval, but keep it fairly simple.

BP had said in the other thread, 1 model, same options and finishes. Because, he's said it in the past and it's never worked out/happened, too many people who just can't agree.

I like the idea of Smelly making the call.

All good points - my take is that Smelly knew that Limited Edition runs were provided by EB to some of their biggest customers like Kanda Shokai in Japan, Musik Meyer in Germany and of course GC in the US so to have a run available to europeans by having a run of 50 in the UK to be distributed in the EEC? - how about calling it the Blind Lemon in honour of the exalted Blind Lemon of Strings n things who retires and rides into the sunset this year;) Have it a flip flop colour going from citrus yellow to Lime(y) green with the lemons avatar on the back below the neck plate ha!

It's kinda now turned into a "Dargie" type guitar available to all? - which is ok of course?

Also, if it was possible to keep the cost down it might be possible for more knucks to join in. But that may not be an option. I also agree with Smelly making the call. What is on his mind? Personally I think the Silo Spec would be a great candidate. Letting the world know that the knuckleheads stand behind that model.

if they came out with a 20th with rosewood neck, mahog body and a slimmer neck (say, the petrucci profile) it would cause the recolapse of my economy :p
if it had a tune o matic bridge, it would do it twice :D

As long as it's got a rosewood neck, i'm happy! :D

+1

Would love a rosewood neck. Have you guys figured out what neck carve you are going to use yet? I think that's more important than colors and hardware.
