Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm a nube...anyway....I have always played ESP model guitars with 81/85 combo in them and they are killer, no doubt. I picked up a JP6 in a guitar center and it sounded awesome, so I ordered one from MF. Once I started playing it through my mesa triple rect, it just lacked chunk, precision and...BALLS! So I want to switch over to active pups(i dont care how difficult the task may be). Has this been done? I have no desire to mix/blend piezo pup and magnetic pup, so it seems possible....the output jack is the only problem cuz i cant find anyone who really knows the wiring. Also not sure if the piezo requires 500k pot or could be used with 25k but like i said, i dont really care to blend them, so it shouldn't matter, its the output jack throwing me. Any help, or previous thread links, would be appreciated!
