Thanks to a discount coupon at Guitar Center and a very nice trade in value on one of my non EBMM basses, I was able to trade for this bass almost straight across. Needless to say, I am a very happy man and am one step closer to ridding myself of all non EBMM instruments and owning all EBMM electric guitars and basses from here on out.

Once we had gotten back on our feet, I was wanting to get a Music Man Stinray 4H that was black with a black pickguard and all maple neck. I have seen so many of these played by so many bassists and have always loved the looks and sound of them. I was at Guitar Center yesterday to play some Markbass amps and daydream about them when I saw this bass. They had a huge black Friday sale going on through today and gave me a very nice trade in deal on my only high end non EBMM bass that allowed me to the deal. I am so stoked over this bass. Some basses you play and you just instantly have a bond with and have chemistry with. This is one of those basses for me. The second I plugged her in and started playing her I knew we were meant to be together. I told them what I had, they gave me a great deal and I left a very very happy man!

Jim,

I now have 5 Music Man basses. The Sterling I got from you in that trade last year, The breast cancer awareness bass, 2 Bongo's and now this bass. With the Bongo's, I wanted to get them because when BP agreed to make the breast cancer awareness bass for me, I had never bought a Music Man bass prior to that. I had some high end electric guitars that I had owned for a few years and was able to sell them to buy the Bongo's.

I still have 3 non EBMM basses that I eventually want to sell but they are only mid level basses so I would probably only get $300.00 for two of them and maybe $500.00 for the third one. With that money, that is probably going to go towards bills. With this bass that I traded, I wanted to do the same thing but it simply wasn't selling. The trade kind of fell into place where it was very little out of pocket for me but also gave me the opportunity to own one more Music Man.

jlepre,

I couldn't pm you because your in box was full. Here is what I traded. I had an I****z 20th5 20th Anniversary Prestige Soundgear bass. It was a limited run of only 350 made. It also had a 20th Anniversary hardshell case, 20th Anniversary leather strap and certificates of authenticity showing it was the 317th of 350 made. I tried selling it to pay off bills but never got any bites probably due to the I*****z name. This trade kind of fell in my lap and Guitar Center offered me almost what they were selling the Stingray for. It was too good of a deal to pass up so I did it.

Congrats on the score.
Always nice when GC actually offers a fair price for a trade.
Have never found that to be the case, when I have tried
Always hit me below the belt.
Enjoy the new Ray! :D
