Not sure if I missed it but was there a list of what dealers received what guitars with regards to the new rosewood-necked EBMMs? I saw in a thread on here that Cherry Hill had one of the MD JP6 with the rosewood neck but it was purchased already. :( Was there a full list of who got what or is there a way to find out? :D Thanks!

Yeah I saw that but I asked for a list of dealers because I wanted to see if anyone was nearby so I could try one out. Not sure how basswood + rosewood neck combo would sound to my ear. :)

Well rosewood is awesome, really suprised how much I like it, if you have a specific model in mind, which it sounds like you do, try contacting CS and ask for a dealer stock search in that model, since this was such a short ordering window may not be that many not already sold.

how does it compare to the mahogany fing'?
only ever seen PRS use the rosewood before, then I tried a Nick Huber, and it was the heaviest sounding guitar ever. was surprised as it looks like it would be good for a chair leg, and not a lot else.

Oh speaking of which, does anyone know if they did JP7 models with the rosewood necks, or were the orders all limited to the 6-string offerings from EBMM? I imagine a 7-string rosewood neck being killer for the mids on a JP7!

They made a few JP7s with rosewood necks, here's one that went to another forumite...

I'm down to one Mystic Dream JP6 w/ rosewood neck and one Lefty LUKE in Sterling Silver w/ rosewood neck. The Walnut Quilt JP BFR and Egyptian Smoke LUKE both sold last night.

Shoot me an email, I'd be happy to help you out!

Oh man, who did that JP7 go to? :( *JEALOUS* I wish I had seen that before it sold, I would have hopped on that in a minute! :p I have a ton of 6'ers and I am trying to justify the JP6 MD one just because I love that finish (owned two JP6s in that finish and one JP7) and I'm very curious how the RW neck reacts with the basswood body.

I find it easier to get harmonics with the all-rosewood neck, and I feel/hear slightly better definition in chords. After just a few minutes of playing on the rosewood neck, it has jumped to the #1 spot and now goes to all my practices and gigs!

Don't feel bad, the JP7 was special ordered for a customer- it wasn't store stock.

Right on, thanks for the info Pete! Damn I need to find a local dealer that has one in stock so I can try them out! :D You can't order any more RW-necked JPs Pete, correct? Was it just that short promotional period?

If i remember correctly, the ordering window was from November 17 - December 17. Or, something in that area.

Quick hijack;

thanks for uploading that pic, that is a great combo Pete. I hope my temptation to buy it wanes; I'm trying to buy a house this year. :D

HA! I'm in the same boat, looking to buy a house within the next 2 months actually... that's why I'm hoping I play one of these and don't love it but I get the feeling that won't be the case!

the sick part with me is that i already have a rosewood neck JP coming and I'm looking to get another guitar before that one is even in my hands. Oh GAS hurts.

Your rosewood lefty JP should be here towards the end of next week. Would you like me to ship you the Sterling Silver LUKE along with it?

I'm saving towards a new house, also - the dog is too big for my current place, and I'm out of room to store guitars. Hopefully I can grab a 25th!

I totally agree with that. I noticed better chord definition, especially on high gain settings. The tone is a little earthier/darker than a maple neck. A little darker than a mahogany BFR neck even...though this could be the difference in pickup orientation between the JP6 and JP7 doing that also...

I can't believe this, but I haven't been playing too many harmonics lately. I guess I've been too mesmerized by the feel of the neck...
