I was wondering whether Paul McCartney is an avid Musicman user? I saw a video that he uses a lefthanded AL...

I wouldn't say he way an avid user, that's the only one I have ever seen him with. Do a search here, I remember a story about that guitar...

Much speculation but rarely, if ever, seen

Thanks for the video link, that was very, very cool:cool:

I wonder if he'll let me deliver his handbook and decoder ring in person??

Well for what they are worth I downloaded the vid clip as a .flv file. I then played it and took some sreen shots - one of which is in black and white.
They are a bit fuzzy, but at least foggy will have something in his photo album !!

If he is not using it anymore, I wonder if he would sell it to me;) not that I can afford anything Sir McCartney would be willing to sell:p

I believe he has a one-legged ex-wife he'd love for you to take off his hands... relatively cheap at that :p

GAS and how I think I have it.

What exactly does GAS mean? I imagine it's an insatiable thirst that cannot be quenched unless the one specific thing is attained.

Like, if I were to say I have GAS for a LH Albert Lee after watching the Sir Paul McCartney videos on YouTube, would that be appropriate? Would it also be proper to say that I have retired any want for a LH-JP6, and have replaced it with GAS for a LH-AL?

I've been watching some old footage of Robert Cray, and was curious if anyone could tell me if they can get a Robert Cray tone out of the 2nd position? (between bridge and middle pickups) I don't want to revert to a stupid F****r, and all ready have a Silhouette Special. I find that the Dimarzio pickups in the SS are a little too hot for the bluesy RC feel I want. I love the SS for rockin' blues all the way to metal, but for mellow blues, jazz and maybe a little country I think the Seymour Duncans would be a trip.

Any comments?

Do you seriously don't know what GAS means?
It's the abbreviation of "Gear Acquisition Syndrome".
We all have it :D

Can't help you on the SSS pickups. But for me, if I ever wanted a strat sound, I would definately go for the AL, no question.

Sheesh, gimme a break.

I obviously got what GAS is getting at; but didn't know the specific abbreviation. I figured I'd just straight-out ask, rather than pretending I knew.

I have played an upside down AL, and certainly appreciated the Strat-like qualities. I liked the body shape more. It felt more comfortable to me. Damn. I gotta get me one.

Come on BFR, roll the dice in my favor!!!
